This is the first of a series of Regional Family Education Conferences. It is an opportunity for family members and caregivers of people with traumatic brain injury to learn more about brain injury and how it affects survivors and family members. It will also provide opportunities to get to know resources and service providers in the community.

The 6th Annual Traumatic Brain Injury Survivors and Family conference will offer opportunities to learn about traumatic brain injury through community, legal, and educational resources.
Survivors, family members and community specialists will guide participants through the stages of living with a brain injury. The conference will offer four perspectives: Survivor, Family, Rights, and Community Resources.

Conference Highlights:
Urban American Disability Summit
The 4th Annual Urban American Disability Summit took place March 19, 2008 in Phoenix. The one-day gathering focused on meeting the needs of Native people with disabilities and their families.
Highlights included an opening session featuring two leading Indian Health Service practitioners, Don J. Davis, Director, and Keith Longie, Deputy Director, Indian Health Service, Phoenix Area. The program also included presentations on rehabilitation, social security and continuing education, as well as other topics.
