Independent Living Rehabilitation Services


The Independent Living Rehabilitation Services program provides four core services: independent living skills training, advocacy, peer support, information and referrals. The program, which is part of the Arizona Department of Economic Security Rehabilitation Services Administration, may also provide adaptive aids and devices, counseling, skills training, and a variety of therapies for individuals with spinal cord injuries based on eligibility.

Service Coordination for Children and Teens with Traumatic Brain Injuries Program

The Arizona Center for Disability Law is a protection and advocacy agency that is dedicated to protecting the rights of individuals with a wide range of physical, mental, psychiatric, sensory and cognitive disabilities.

Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System

Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) is Arizona’s Medicaid program, and the State of Arizona's health care program for persons who do not qualify for Medicaid.

Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS)

Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS), Arizona's long term Medicaid care program, assists those who are elderly or blind, physically disabled, or have a developmental disability and need nursing home level care.

Located in Tuba City, Arizona, ASSIST! enhances the quality of life and community life for disabled American Indian consumers by maximizing independence, improving functional skills and providing culturally relevant services.

Located in Tucson, Arizona, this organization offers independent living services, public education and awareness programs, and advocacy services to assist people with significant disabilities so that they may choose, achieve, and maintain independent lifestyles.

New Horizons Under construction
New Horizons Independent Living Center Inc. is a non-profit organization serving Arizona’s Yavapai, Coconino, and Mohave Counties that provides advocacy and services to empower and assist people with disabilities.

SMILE Under construction
Services Maximizing Independent Living and Empowerment (SMILE), is a Yuma, Arizona based non-profit organization that offers independent living services to disabled individuals.

Other resources that can be useful include automobile insurance medical coverage, TRICARE which is a health benefits program for active or retired military personnel and their dependents, and COBRA , which provides temporary continuation of health coverage at group rates in specific instances to former employees, retirees, spouses and dependent children.
